welcome to the dog coach, glasgow
Are you looking for an ethical dog trainer in Glasgow? If your puppy or dog is displaying undesirable behaviours, feels anxious in certain situations, or is in need of some basic training, I would be happy to help. I can even help you develop your dog handling skills to become a better and more confident dog guardian.
Welcome to the Dog Coach, Glasgow! Before employing anyone to help coach your dog, you should know a little bit about that person. I began working with dogs and studying their behaviour in 2007. I am a qualified Guide Dog Trainer, Autism Assistance Dog Trainer and Canine Behaviourist (Dip). I continue to upskill and research the latest science backed, ethical coaching methods to ensure that my knowledge is up to date in this fast-evolving industry. There are many myths about dog training, some suggesting that you must lead with a heavy hand, dominate your dog, and show him who is boss. Please do not do that! You may temporarily stop a behaviour, but you will also end up with a frightened dog who does not trust you. Science has proved many times that dogs learn much more efficiently when we use kind, positive methods. So, I use positive, fear free coaching methods and encourage the use of lots of praise, treats, toys, and cuddles. Understanding dogs requires empathy, and I have empathy for both your dog and you. I understand that raising a dog can be challenging and I can offer practical advice on how to make both your lives more enjoyable. During coaching sessions, I will help you understand why your dog behaves the way he or she does and then create a tailormade, straight forward, behavioural modification plan. I am currently offering 1-2-1 training sessions in outdoor environments, adhering to current COVID 19 regulations. If you are not able to meet, I can offer advice remotely. If you have any concerns about your dog’s behaviour or training issues, please message me below, and I will get in touch with you to discuss your needs. I look forward to hearing from you!
